Year 2009 began with a boom! The same goes out for Bollywood. Shahrukh khan a.k.a King Khan, who is currently, busy in shoots for the movie ‘My Name Is Khan’ with Karan Johar and the ever-beautiful, Kajol, was taken by surprise on getting a call from Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) to present an award at the exalted ‘Golden Globe Awards’ ceremony.
Shahrukh would be presenting the award for the Best Drama category. After Oscars, Golden Globe Awards are as holy the Oscars and it is for the first time, in the history of Golden Globes and Indian Cinema, that a Bollywood actor has been invited at this prestigious award giving ceremony. The event is to be held on 11th of January. SRK would be attending the function with dear friend and Bollywood’s top notch director Karan Johar.
Among international celebrities anticipated to be on this occasion include Hollywood luminaries such as Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Aaron Eckhart, Laurence Fishburne, Chris Rock and Jennifer Lopez.
Indian music maestro A.R Rahman has also been invited at the occasion, as a nominee. Nominated for his musical number in Danny Boyle’s much talked about film Slumdog Millionaire, it indeed is a matter of prestige for Indians across the globe.
