Saim Ali talks to FashionCentral.pk exclusively, here are the

1. Kindly tell us something about yourself?

I am fun loving, full of life, very social, worship my Mother, Hard working, Love Traveling, a big bollywood buff, I love to sleep tight, I love eating desi food, Thai, junk food & Indian food, I am addicted to my Mobile, Laptop & Perfumes.

2. The business you are in is full of challenges, and do you feel you have been able to cope with them?

Yes I have, I love challenges, I completely agree with the fact that there are lot of lobbies and favoritism but if you have faith in your self and in God then you’ll have a smooth path to lead.

3. Designers normally win over minds and hearts do you agree with this?

Yes I guess that is there because your client trust you and we have to make them look the best ever, and I also believe that it’s the niche of our fashion market where we need to do so and have to have such abilities to be the best in the market.

4. What are the major ingredients of your brand?

Well this is one question where I need to put a full stop but if I really need to answer to get onto your next one then I’ll probably say that one should never compromise on quality over quantity.

5. In pursuing your goals what difficulties have you come across both from the angle of technology and resources?

I would say I’ll be really lucky that way as my Mother was a fashion designer Farrah Gillani and she had her set-up and clients everything was ready for me to jump in the business but she was not allowed to go on a commercial side of the business where I’ve played my cards so that way where
I had to put up a set-up and work on my clientele I am blessed I had to face no problems but yes on maintaining my image building I had to face a lot of difficulties and I’ve faced all of them with lot of courage and dignity so that nowhere I had to put my feet down for anybody.

6. Any difficulties that you consider insurmountable?

Not at all, its not that we are fighting a war.  We have lovely people in the industry and they all are political nice to every one and I think life is a bit difficult you have to survive no matter what happen, but I am completely enjoying it and I love challenges what ever comes on my way and I
face them with full positive energy.

7. Now that so many people look up to you for desire fulfillment, do you think you are always able to succeed?

Well I try my level best to do so but no body is perfect I mean we do have complains as well but me and my crew try our best that we fulfill the requirements and that’s what our job is all about to make people happy and make them look nice & modern in a sophisticated way.

8. Any dress created by you that stands out in terms of excellence?

Hmmm. not exactly but yes a few of my designs have created a mark and got lot of business on them. But I wish I create something larger then life but I guess I am just waiting for the right moment some big occasion so I can make something very exclusive for one of my favorite models.

9. Have the parents been an inspiration in achieving success?

Not both of them but yes my Mother is my biggest Inspiration and I would love to mention is that what ever little I am is just because of her, she has supported me from the day one and even till now she is with me and (INSHALLAH) she will be with me forever. My Father is a bit conservative and
strict when it comes to Fashion world but he has an idea that his son is doing well. I think he sneak into my pictures and feel happy.

10. Your family life, has it been affected by business demands on your time?

Yes it has you know when it comes to your timings and once you are a busy famous fashionista and you have to socialize along with your heavy duty work then you really don’t get hold of time I mean we are like busy 24/7. We have so much to do already and then these extra social mingling so then I
guess it really hurt your family life and routine you hardly get time for your parents and siblings but thank God my family understand the meaning of
being famous.

11. Along the way, have you been successful in developing a team?

Yes I have and in this case I would like to Thank Salina Wardah as I would like to mention this again that we share the same premises and we sort of work together for two different brands, and sharing the same platform with them is just amazing we do have a comfort level.

12. Where do the ideas flow from; self thinking or watching competitors and tracking their creations?

No I am inspired by different designers like Roberto Cavalii, Rizwan Beyg, Philosophy, Ed Hardy, JJ Walaya & Ritu Berri and I wouldn’t hesitate to except that I do track there designs sometime when they are really amazing but I work on my brains  and I take ideas from the historical motives and animals as well.

13. Any of your work that has helped to improve the image of Pakistan?

As I have said earlier that I do want to design something larger then life something Extravaganza but not as yet, yes people has complimented me on my latest Intoxicated collection and I’ve got amazing response.

14. Is it possible for designers to reach out to Pakistani on the street?

Yes some of them are very affordable and they do cater to the middle modern class, and I am happy to see people wearing modern clothes and wehave developed the fashion sense in them thanks to outlets like Generation &
Cynasore.

15. Five years from now, where do you expect to be?

To be a happy Pakistani.

I'll be really lucky that way as my Mother was a fashion designer Farrah Gillani and she had her set-up and clients everything was ready for me to jump in the business.
