Another Challenge for Shahid Afridi

Shahid Afridi, who proved his mettle in recent World Cup and one day matches, faced another challenge, when PCB announced his end as a captain of Pakistani Cricket team.

However, Afirdi’s retirement decision from all formats of International Cricket has elevated his respect and dignity in the eyes of his fans. Even former Pakistani cricket team captain Waseem Akram has supported Afridi in his decision and has criticized the decision made by PCB chairman Ijaz Butt.

The 31-year-old Afridi, while talking to media said, “I can no longer perform for a cricket board that does not respect its senior players. I have been quite all this time for the sake of my team.” He added, “They removed me on my back when I was in USA, it was then that I decided that I’ll consult people and take a decision.”

The fans of Afridi will surely miss his blasting sixes and heart-hitting wickets, we wish him all the best in his new start.

The hard-hitting batsman and leg-spin bowler played in 27 tests, 325 one-day games and 43 Twenty20s for his country.
