Timeless glory of Islamabad fashion week (IFW) includes an arena of Pakistani fashion depicted by many seasoned and budding Pakistani fashion designers, stylists and fashion choreographers over Islamabad fashion runway.
Islamabad Fashion Week (IFW) bashed with latest trends and styles at Serena Hotel, Islamabad with four zestful days from 27 January 2011 to 30 January 2011. The show aimed to mark both history and inclusion of Islamabad in the world’s fashion capitals incorporating renowned Pakistani fashion designers and fashion brands together with fresh talent to get access over international buyers and to enhance opportunity of international business interest in Pakistan’s fabric.
Islamabad Fashion Week had each day divided into two sections: the one as prêt & luxury prêt day shows and the other as couture show.
- Day 1 of Islamabad Fashion Week
Day 1 prêt & luxury prêt day shows were choreographed by Amina Pomme Gohar with Hair and make-up by Shaheen Saeed. A design team from Glasgow, Scotland Deeba and Zoe opened the show with quite elegant collection in black then Shahzad Nawaz and Sumaira (SNS) presented 11 frilled and sheer volume outfits. Dresses with Print paneling were presented by Envogue’s Hamida. Pakistani jewelry designer Shafaq Habib banged IFW with beautiful Egyptian royalty headdresses, neck and waist wears. Pakistani stylist Tariq Amin did hair and make-up of day 1 couture showwhere Ammar Belal presented his luxurious menswear and women’s wear collection.
- Day 2 of Islamabad Fashion Week
Prêt & luxury prêt day shows on day 2 of IFW were again choreographed by Amina Pomme Gohar with Hair and make-up by Toni & Guy. The students of the Gujranwala Institute of Fashion Technology opened day 2 with their eye catching creations and the Lawrencepur presented stunning men’s wear followed by Bisma Ahmed’s collection.
Day 2 couture show contained glamorous lehengas, chooridar pajamas and kurtas by Rehana Saigol’s Jashn who had her design philosophy as “Style over fashion, and to look like everyone else is death” also the indigenous men’s collection was presented by Shakeel Saigol.
- Day 3 of Islamabad Fashion Week
Prêt & luxury prêt day shows on 3rd day of IFW were choreographed by Imran Kureishi with Hair and make-up by Angie Marshall. Pakistani fashion designer Shaiyanne Malik landed on ramp with magnificent white dresses incarnated with floral patterns. The students of Iqra University’s fashion design department showcased quite a vibrant collection and Chinyere participated with Spring/Summer 2011 collection. The 3rd day couture show of IFW carried prismatic Basant theme shown by Kamiar Rokni.
- Day 4 of Islamabad Fashion Week
Prêt & luxury prêt day shows of final day choreographed by Imran Kureishi with Hair and make-up by Rukaiya Adamjee had traditional hand-woven fabric dresses by Malaysian designer Sharifah Kirana Syed Ghazali. Fitted pants and pajamas were shown by Huma Amir Adnan of FNK Asia; Beenish Agha and Sanam Agha also presented their local fabric there.
Day 4 couture show of IFW began with exciting cuts and details by Nilofer Shahid with all footwear by Metro Shoes.
The final day of Islamabad fashion week had a signing ceremony to welcome Pakistan as the National Chapter of the World Fashion Organization that would feast international buyers to step in Pakistani fashion market.
